  • Why have we gotten into debt?

Let’s get real and honest with the answer to this question.  The reason we have gotten into debt is because we didn’t trust God. We needed something and there wasn’t abundance like God promised so we leaned on the arm of flesh and used the credit cards, obtained loans and incurred debt instead of waiting and trusting God to bring the provision to pay for it.  We were hasty and couldn’t wait for God and so we cut God off of the opportunity to bring a miracle to us.  We did it our way out of fear, we didn’t want to wait in faith, we did it out of lack of trust in Him and lack of obedience to His Word.  We have leaned heavily on the arm of debt.

In order to change things now and get out of debt, a true heart of repentance is where you must begin so I have included yet another prayer.  I believe these many prayers I have given you prayed in faith, repentance and obedience help you take hold of  the transformation you need in your soul which includes you mind, will, emotions and intellect that has conformed to this world and gotten you into debt.  Make sure you take some time with each one and come boldly to the throne of grace.

Heb 4:16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace…, that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].  AMP

Prayer:

Lord, I see now the reason I got into debt is because I didn’t trust you.  I needed some things, lusted after some things and because there was not abundance I leaned on the arm of flesh and used credit cards, obtained loans, etc.  I incurred debt instead of waiting on you and trusting in you to bring the provision to pay for it.  I was hasty and couldn’t wait for you and I realize now I cut off your opportunity to give me a financial miracle. Through fear, lack of trust in you and lack of obedience to your Word I did it my way.  I repent for leaning so heavily on the arm of debt.  Have mercy on me, my Lord, in Jesus’ name.  Amen
