The tithe opens the windows of heaven to prosper you.

Mal 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven.  NKJV

God has promised to open the windows of heaven to the person who does not rob Him of what rightly belongs to Him.  Tithing is giving God what rightly belongs to Him.  When you are faithful to tithe you can and will experience prosperity in all areas of your life.  God does not however open the windows of heaven to a robber or a thief of His stuff.

Mal 3:10 And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.  NKJV

King James and the New King James bibles have certain words italicized.  That means the italicized words were not in the original language of Hebrew or Greek but were added by the translators.

Reading Malachi 3 with or without the italicized words you will notice a dramatic difference.

Mal 3:10 "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.  NKJV

Without the italicized words:

Mal 3:10 “If I wlll not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you blessing that not enough.”

God is saying to us here, “That is not enough.”  Basically He is saying, “That is not enough.”

Why is the tithe not enough?  Because the tithe alone is not giving God anything.

The tithe opens the windows of heaven for you but there are two robbers here, those who rob God of both the tithe and the offering.
