In dealing with the hindrances and the barriers that stop the flow of the abundance of God in your life, you need to spend some time on the negative side of finances and money because God’s promise to you for prosperity and abundance is absolute. You don’t have to convince God to do it. Instead you need to spend time getting rid of wrong thinking and wrong actions with your finances that have hindered and stopped the flow of God’s abundance and prosperity.
It is when you get aligned with God’s Word in your thoughts and in the handling of money and handling of your financial affairs that the blessings naturally flow. When you are out of alignment with God and His Word in your thoughts and actions you hinder, delay and stop the flow. That’s why it is wrong to just teach the body of Christ about the biblical principles of sowing and reaping, seedtime and harvest and imply that by their sowing everything is going to be fixed, their problems are all going to go away.
You must understand there are other things that are out of line when you sow and get harvests but you find the increase is just temporary and you continue to live paycheck to paycheck. The bible states it as a condition where your pockets have holes in them and the money just goes right back out.
I believe in tithing and offerings but I believe if you are not getting the financial increase guaranteed by the Word of God then you need to check into how you handle your money and finances for the problem isn’t with God and His promises to you but it is with you.
The very first truth you need to recognize if you are not seeing financial increase is that sacrificial offerings alone will not bring you entirely out of financial crisis. The increase of the Kingdom of God simply does not come by giving a sacrificial offering.
Yes God will speak to you from time to time to give sacrificially and as a result of your obedience you will receive increase. But then there are times you give sacrificially and expect to see everything fixed and there may be some increase but it is never enough and you continue to live paycheck to paycheck. There is more to the financial increase than just sowing sacrificial offerings. You must realize there may be a problem with how you relate to money, handle money and handle financial matters. We will get into these as we continue in this teaching. These matters the bible tells you create holes in your pocket, purse or billfold even if you tithe and sow offerings.
Hag 1:5-6 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. KJV
Haggai tells you to consider your ways if you sow and see no increase.
You need to be clear in these times when you see little or no increase and yet you have given. There is nothing wrong with God, nothing wrong with God’s Word and its principles of sowing and reaping, seedtime and harvest for these financial principles work when you put them to work. They are spiritual laws so they must work when you put them to work. You must be clear on this that God is never your problem when you are facing financial crisis and His promises to you are always yes and amen. Never, ever accuse God of being the problem and failing you. That is the BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU CAN EVER MAKE!
The first most important step in coming out of your financial crisis is to humble yourself and admit you just haven’t handled things correctly. You may be ignorant to your mishandling but you must humble yourself, recognize the errors when God shows them to you, take full responsibility for your mistakes, repent of your mishandling, make the quality decision to change and then start doing things God’s way. Allow God to deal with you and show you the root to your financial crisis. You must obey if He asks you to cut up your credit cards or change your spending habits. Just be willing to obey so He can supernaturally start working in your situation.
Let me be honest with you and you be honest with yourself, quick fixes will not come to you through an offering if you have heart issues with money and financial matters.
God had to deal with Israel before He could bless them as He promised and desired. Two of the things He had to deal with them were they didn’t listen to Him and second they started thinking they were getting the wealth by their own hand and not recognizing He had given them the power to get wealth.
Deut 28:1-2 "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: NKJV
Deut 8:17-18 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. 18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. KJV
This is the same problem today in the Church. They don’t take the time to listen to God about their financial matters but continue begging God for more money, making money their god. Christian’s faith is in money and their jobs. They believe they have worked hard for that hard earned money and they can do anything they want with the money. This is entirely unscriptural.
God is the one who blesses you with everything you have and it is He who gives you the power to get wealth. It is not by the might of your hands you have any increase but it is by His mighty hand. You need to get these scriptures, Deut. 28:1-2 and Deut. 8:17-18, clear in your thinking and believing or you will always be working for what you get and the blessing of God will be cut off from you.
