Proverbs 18:14 The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear? AMP

Most people who get sick generally watch TV and read magazines and just do natural things instead of reading the Word of God to feed their spirit and their spirit gets weaker and they remain sick.  Sickness and weakness and pain in our bodies is when we most need to feed our spirit the Word of God.  Most people who have financial problems, the first thing they do is seek a job or jobs and seek for borrowed money and other natural things when the most beneficial thing we can do in those times is feed our spirit the Word of God.

We develop our spirit the three ways we develop our physical body; diet, rest and exercise.  We develop the physical body by what we eat, how we rest and our exercise.  So let's talk about a spiritual diet.

1 Timothy 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith… KJV

Faith words nourish.  Faith words strengthen.

1 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. KJV

1 Timothy 4:7 Train yourself toward godliness…, [keeping yourself spiritually fit]. AMP

Proper diet and exercise are necessary for a strong spirit, soul and body.  We have to feed our spirit faith food in order for it to be strong.

We put the Word in our eyes and in your ears and it gets down in our heart and we then have to do something with that.  That's called exercise.  From what we have learned through our eyes and ears from the Word of God it gets down inside of us and then the Word talks to us from our heart if we are listening and tells us what to do and then we have to exercise by doing what it told us to do.  We put the Word down on the inside of us and it begins to talk to us.  The Word clearly tells us this in Proverbs 6:20-22:

Proverbs 6:20-22 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 21  Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. 22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. KJV

So the Word of God will talk to us if we put it in our heart and then we do what it tells us to do.

The Word of God contains the proper nutrients for building a strong spirit.  The Word of God is our primary Source of Strength.  The Word of God feeds our spirit in the same way natural food feeds our body.  God's Word to our spirit is like good food to our body.  Our spirit has a voracious appetite for the Word of God.  We can load up on the Word of God and it won't hurt us but it will help us.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. KJV

We could say it like this, faith comes by eating and eating by the Word of God.  We are nourished in words of faith.

1 Timothy 4:6 …inwardly feeding on the lessons of the faith and of the sound teaching of which you have been, and are, so close a follower. WNT

1 Timothy 4:6 …nourished in the words of faith and of good doctrine unto which thou hast attained. KJ21

1 Timothy 4:6 …feed yourself spiritually on the words of faith and of the true teaching which you have followed. GNT

Another translation says, "Feeding your own soul on the words of faith."  Another translation says, "Nurturing on messages of faith."  Another translation:  "We are sustained by the precepts of the faith and of that good teaching."

Everyone of us should read the Word of God every day before we start our day and not just to have a reading but in order to meditate because meditation brings revelation and revelation produces manifestation.   Maybe you don't think that you have time but do you have time to have to go to the hospital or doctor or get in a car wreck or be in a plane crash?  We have to get the Word every day to get your faith growing.  Keep it going in our eyes and ears and going into our hearts and coming out of our mouths so the Law of the Spirit of Life is released to operate in our lives instead of the law of sin and death.

The Word is Word medicine and life and health to all of our flesh and food for our spirit.

You can even have scripture the Holy Spirit will cause to rise up in you and you should that day meditate that scripture because His intent is to help you avoid what is in this world that could harm you or help you in some way.

The nourishing attributes of the Word of God to our flesh:

Job 23:12  I have not gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed and treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. AMP

More than our necessary food we have to have the Word of God.

The word "esteem" means "to hide, hoard, store, and layup".

We lay up the Word or can the Word or preserve the Word in our spirit so that when we need it, when negative situations arise then we have the Word to release on it and stop it. When the Word stored up and the devil puts the squeeze on us, when the world system puts the pressure on us then the only thing that comes out of our mouths is the Word of God.

Job 34:3 For the ear tries words as the palate tastes food. AMP

"Tries", the ear "tastes or distinguishes" the Word.  So we have to consider the words that we are hearing because we can hear messages that it is the will of God for us to be sick or they might say that God doesn't want us to prosper and be rich.  That should have a bad taste in our spirit man because we know better by what the Word that tells us that it is the will of God for us to be healed and prosper and even be rich.

Babies are not discerning.  They will put anything in their mouth like dirt and paste, etc. because they are not discerning and we have to help them.  Even so we have to become mature and nourish ourselves on the Word of God and not the junk of this world's words.

Psalm 119:103  How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! AMP

The Word of God is sweet.

Psalm 119:103 Your words are so choice, so tasty; I prefer them to the best home cooking. MSG

We need to feed the Word to our spirit every day before anything else.  It would be good to do that before we feed bodies food every morning.  We must look at it, meditate it and see that we are feeding our spirit man every day.

My desire at God's Word Alive is to get the Word written and on audio to feed your spirit man every single day so that you know who you are in Christ Jesus, what you have in Christ, what you can do and whose you really are so that your spirit man is built up and strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Matthew 4:4 But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. AMP

We cannot live without the Word of God for it is the Bread of Life.  It is life to us who find it and healing and health and medicine to all our flesh.

John 6:35 Jesus replied, I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me will never thirst any more (at any time). AMP

John 6:56-58  He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood dwells continually in Me, and I [in like manner dwell continually] in him. 57  Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me. 58  This is the Bread that came down from heaven. It is not like the manna which our forefathers ate, and yet died; he who takes this Bread for his food shall live forever.  AMP

The Word is our Bread of Life and we draw strength from the Word of God.  If we want to remain strong in our spirit in this dark, confused world then we need to feed on the Word of God every day.

Psalm 119:28  …raise me up and strengthen me according to [the promises of] Your word. AMP

Psalm 119:28  My sad life's dilapidated, a falling-down barn; build me up again by your Word.  MSG

Jeremiah 15:16  Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts. AMP

God's Word is strength, peace, joy, gladness, blessing.

Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I devoured them. Your words are my joy and my heart's delight,… GWT

Jeremiah 15:16 When your words showed up, I ate them— swallowed them whole. What a feast! MSG

Acts 20:32 …the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance... KJV

One translation says, "the Word of His grace will make us strong".

The Word of His grace will build us up and give to us what belongs to us in God.  What belongs to us in one word would be The Blessing.  Healing, prosperity, and all the good things that we need are in The Blessing of the Lord.  God's people can go a lifetime and not receive The Blessing of the Lord that belongs to them because they have no time for the Word of God and have no time with God to know His voice and never appropriate The Blessing in their lives because they never speak it into their lives.  Lack of knowledge of The Blessing then even God's people don't know any better than to be sick, borrow money and live paycheck to paycheck, and all bad stuff.  God's people have to feast upon the Word of God and discover The Blessing that provides a Blessing wall that separates us from the curse out here.  There can be the same conditions of the world around us but because of revelation and application of The Blessing we will have different results.  We can only find out The Blessing in the Word of God and be strengthened by both The Blessing and the Word of God.

Romans 15:4 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. NLT

Romans 15:4  Through the encouragement drawn from the Scriptures we might hold fast to our hope, we draw strength from the Word. 20th Century New Testament

Hope in the Greek is confidence, expectation, faith.  Only the Word of God can give us this real hope, real confidence, real expectation, real faith in God and real strength.  You can't buy this kind of hope or beg, steal, and borrow to get this hope.  Real hope comes from the Word of God.

1 Peter 2:2-3 Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation, 3  Since you have [already] tasted the goodness and kindness of the Lord. AMP

We get on the Word and feed ourselves and speak the Word and we will continue in The Blessing of the Lord.  That's exactly how The Blessing works, first we feed on the Word, speak the Word and act on the Word and The Blessing shows up.  That's our guarantee for The Blessing showing up and staying in our lives.  It won't take long if you plan to stick with it that your immediate needs are met, the Word will get you out of debt and you stay out of debt and you will learn how to believe God for homes and cars, land, prosperity of your business, prosperity of your ministry, etc. and all without going to this world system and begging and using its debt.  Without the Word we will stay in debt and stay limited but with the Word we will have no limit because we will find out how to prosper and increase by the Kingdom of God.

We build up our spirits continually by feasting, feeding on the Word of God, the Bread of life.
