And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

There was a woman who married into a family and she didn’t realize this family was so bad off financially. After she had married into this family she gathered them all together and announced that the place they call home was a disgrace. She reminded them that they were all able-bodied people and there was no reason for them to be living like this. She told the family that poverty was like a creeping paralyzes. Matter of fact, she called poverty a disease. She vowed to make sure that the children would become prosperity conscious, so they would expect life’s best and become wealthy.

Now I like the word expect because that’s what faith is. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. That word hoped for is earnestly expecting, you really expect this. Matter of fact, it is expecting like you expect with an outstretched neck, like when you are looking for the train to come or looking for someone.

I think what gave this woman her deliverance in 2 Kings was she expected something from this man of God. She expected something.

When you are prosperity conscious you can see opportunities. When you are not prosperity conscious, many times the opportunities that are before you look like obstacles.

This woman expected to get something from this man of God. She asked for wisdom. Then she had to expect when she went and filled that one jar, the oil would keep flowing. She had to expect miracles; because miracles just don’t happen. Miracles happen by expectation and she is expecting.

Woman who are pregnant, they are expecting. It’s the same thing, you know a child is coming forth. You know the bus is coming. You know your prosperity is on its way.

So, God has made it so that we must expect a miracle.

Expect a miracle was the theme of Oral Robert’s ministry. Oral Roberts shared when he was a pastor he was trying to raise money for something in the small church. One Sunday night he was raising money and he wanted to show his sincerity and belief in God and the things he was saying and, so he put his weekly salary check in the offering plate. When he got home his wife Evelyn said, “Oral, did you get paid today?” He said, “Well, yes.” She said, “Well where is it?” He hated to say it, but he said, “Well I put it in that offering.” She said, “You didn’t put that check! These kids need some clothes. You did not put that check!” He said, “At two o’clock in the morning a knock came at the door. A businessman came. His business was going through a downturn and God told him, “Go dig up $400.” He had some money planted in his backyard. “Dig up $400 and give it to Brother Roberts.” He said to Brother Roberts, “God told me to give this to you. It’s $400.” He said, “This is not money. This is seed.” So, he gave Brother Roberts that $400. So, Brother Roberts went back in the house and turned on the light, woke Evelyn up and waved those four one hundred-dollar bills in her face. His salary was only $75. Before the night was over Brother Roberts got his harvest for what he needed and more from the seed he had sown earlier because he expected his giving to produce a harvest.

I am telling you to expect.

This man of God in 2 Kings could not move without he gave the widow the answer how to pay her debt. I believe her husband, a prophet, had sown much of his life for the work of the Lord and now it was time for his widow to get the harvest of his sowing and God gave her a harvest of the wisdom of the prophet of God that got her out of debt and provision thereafter. She expected to receive the answer from the man of God and she got the answer and got out of debt. She expected.

Expectation produces miracles, whether it be money, wisdom how to get provision, favor from other people, answers how to do something we struggle with, however God wants to release the miracle, but it is going to be good.

Miracles come to those who expect, and expectation will come as you meditate the Word of God on the promise that covers your situation day and night.

Tell others you are expecting a miracle. Tell the Lord you are expecting a miracle. Speak to your unpaid bills and tell them you are expecting a miracle. Speak to debt and tell debt you are expecting a miracle. Speak to your body and tell it that you are expecting a miracle. Speak to the devil that is harassing your mind and tell it that you are expecting a miracle.

EXPECT YOUR MIRACLE AND YOU WILL HAVE YOUR MIRACLE!

2 Kings chapter 4 is
