Luke 16:1-8 (KJV) And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. 2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. 3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. 4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. 5 So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord? 6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. 7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore. 8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

This is one powerful teaching because it is talking about doing business in the Kingdom of God and how it is done, how we are to live in the Kingdom of God, what the economy is like, how does this economy work.

Satan does not create anything new.  He steals stuff and he copies stuff because he lost his anointing.  So, he copies a system and he knows what works because whatever God comes up with works.

So, this steward handles another person’s goods or valuables. He makes sure the company is profitable.  The company was losing money in this scripture.  The master came and said we are losing money and he fired the steward.  Before he officially left the company, he went and found the people who owed the company.  Asked how much they owed.  They said they owed $10,000 so he told them to give him $5,000 and forget the rest of the debt.  The steward went to the next person and asked how much he owed the company and they told the steward and he told them to give him half of what he owed and forget the rest of the debt.  The steward was making friends so when he got fired, they would owe him.  He wasn’t doing it with integrity.  He was stealing but he was saying I’m getting fired anyway so no need for me to make the boss man rich and I am getting fired but it will make me rich.

Luke 16:8 (KJV) And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

The Lord told he had done wisely even though he had stolen money from the company.

Who are the children of light in this scripture?  That’s us in the Kingdom of God.  So, what was this man doing?  He was working a system, the world’s system.

Now the system of the world is corrupt, but there is honor among thieves.  We need to see that.  The mafia has honor among them.  They know how this system works and they work their system.  My point is God has a system.  What Jesus is saying is the enemy is working his system; but why aren’t God’s people working their system?  Here is a system God gave his people found in Genesis 8:22,

Genesis 8:22 (KJV) While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, …

Seedtime and harvest.  Let’s see this system in the New Testament.

Luke 6:38 (KJV) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (KJV) But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Mark 12:41-44 (KJV) And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Now we know the poor widow got a return on her giving because you see the same thing over in 1 Kings 17, where God told Elijah to go to Zarephath and a widow woman would feed him.  Elijah went there and told the woman to feed him first before she and her son and she did, and the barrel of meal did not run out.  What is happening with this?  Let’s look at Proverbs 11:24,

Proverbs 11:25 (KJV) There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Proverbs 11:24 (NLT2) Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.

God said that.  Do you think God lied to you?  This is one of the hardest truths for Christians to believe and receive.  The reason why is because it absolutely defies human reason and it is designed to do that; because God doesn’t want you to follow this principle because it’s reasonable but follow it by faith.

Proverbs 11:24 (NIV) One person gives freely, yet gains even more; …

That doesn’t make sense.

If God’s people just did this then the churches would be running over with wealth.  We are still trying to build church buildings on people’s salaries; but that is not the intent because your salary is your seed.

We need to meditate this principle and break the stronghold that’s trying to keep you from living that way and it will be all right.

Look at what Jesus said about it in John 12:24,

John 12:24 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Jesus took His life and worked this principle.  I am not talking about His money.  He took His life and worked that principle because nothing can abrogate it or, nothing can suspend it, nothing can stop it from working; because you just jumped up in the spirit when you worked that law and it has dominion over every natural thing.

The best thing the devil could try to do when you sow, is try to talk you out of expecting a harvest.  When you sow, sometimes he will come to you and tell you, “See it doesn’t work.”  Then people open up their mouth and say things like, “I shouldn’t have done that.  That was my last.”  No.  Don’t say anything.  The Bible tells us when we have a bad thought to put our hand over our mouth.  Don’t let your mouth say anything and watch what happens.

In the body of Christ, we are going to break this cycle of lack, cycle of debt and we are going for it.  Say, I am going for it.  We will break these cycles through applying this principle of the Kingdom of seedtime and harvest.

So, the steward was working a system and he was lying, and it was corrupt, but it was his system.  God said this man in his generation is wiser than the people of light; but God’s way is on the opposite side, that when you do give then it will be given back to you.  This scripture talked about a whole economy that is higher than this one of the world.

One man said, “If you learn how to sow and reap and know how to work this principle, you can be richer than Bill Gates.”

You will sow and reap, sow and reap.

One person continued to sow and reap, sow and reap and they got the land they needed which was almost as big as a state.  They were sowing and reaping, sowing and reaping each year for seven years.

Remember sowing and reaping is the Kingdom way for you increase more and more.  God said so,

Proverbs 11:24 (NLT2) Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.
