Genesis 26:1-3 (KJV) And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. 2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;

God said He would perform the oath He swore to Abraham their father.  God is talking about covenant He made with Abraham, Isaac’s father when God told Abraham,

Genesis 26:4 (KJV) And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

We go back to Genesis 12:2 where God spoke to their father Abraham and cut covenant with him of The Blessing.

Genesis 12:2-3 (KJV) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

I want you to see this is a covenant between God and Abraham.  It’s very, very important you see this.

A covenant is like a contract.  It’s like a contract is between me and a person who is going to paint my house.  So, when they paint my house then I give them money.  If they don’t paint my house, I don’t give them any money.

So, a contract is between two people and they sign an agreement and God said for His part He is going to bless Abraham, going to make his name great and he was going to be a blessing.  God told Abraham He was going to bless him and his seed in Genesis 17.  Let’s look at Genesis 26:12 and this is about Abraham’s seed, Isaac.  Now God made a covenant with him.  Let’s look and see where that covenant comes from.  It’s a covenant God was making with the earth and with Noah as the waters receded in the earth when it flooded the whole earth.

Genesis 8:22 (KJV) While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

So, as long as we have a covenant going here with the earth, as long as the earth remains there is going to be seedtime and harvest.  I wanted you to see this.  I want you to get this because God is going to take care of you, I don’t care what is going to happen to this economy.  He is covenanted to take care of you and God keeps His covenant.  He said, “a covenant I will not break nor alter the things that have gone out of my mouth.”

Jeremiah 33:20 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, …

Now notice what He just did.  He said that as long as the earth remains there will be seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter and day and night.  As long as this is going on, my covenant is going to be in force.  He talks about the covenant of the day and the covenant of the night.  So, you can’t break it.  God keeps His covenant.

When God’s people were in Egypt, God said He remembered His covenant.  So, God is a covenant keeping God. God’s covenant is that He is going to care for His people.

If God doesn’t care for you, there’s only one left in the earth, Satan, that’s controlling all the natural realm.  God doesn’t want the devil to take care of you; but He knows that you are either going to have to get your provision from one system or the other.  He knows you can’t exist without provision.  So, He knows that if He doesn’t care for you, you will go to another system.  So, God is saying, I got you covered, and I am going to care for you. I don’t care what happens now.  I am going to take care of you.

So, in the midst of a famine, He told Isaac to not go down to Egypt.  Egypt represents the other system.  Isaac was to stay in this land of famine and do what God told him to do and God would take care of him.

Genesis 26:12 (KJV) Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

There was famine in the land Isaac was in.  That’s why Isaac wanted to go to Egypt.  God told him not to go to Egypt.  God was saying, don’t care what the economy is like, I got your back.  Same with you wherever you live God has got your back.  God not only has your back; God is going to make you the head.  God is going to take that opportunity to make you the lender.  This is why the covenant is so exciting.

Genesis 26:13-14 (KJV) And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: 14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Here is the Message Translation,

Genesis 26:12 (MSG) Isaac planted crops in that land and took in a huge harvest. GOD blessed him.

You need to get God’s idea of what huge is, because I think huge to us is not huge to God.  So, what we need to do is meditate that Word.  When we start meditating, the Word God will start painting us a picture inside of us of what He sees.  When He does that, you will start getting excited.

Isaac took in a huge harvest and God blessed him.

Genesis 26:13 (MSG) The man got richer and richer by the day until he was very wealthy.

Let’s look at Galatians 4:28, because what He did for Isaac, He is going to do for you.

Galatians 4:28 (KJV) Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Just like He blessed Isaac, we are also the seed of Abraham.  So, are you ready to be blessed?

Now here’s the deal.  The covenant way to be blessed is by sowing your seed.  You can’t cry and make this work.  You can’t fast and make it work.  Fasting is good and sometimes crying alleviates a little emotion, but it won’t move the covenant.  You can’t confess and make it work.  I am talking about your provision.  The way you get God to release provision is through sowing a seed and that’s it.  Watch this.  Once you do, God moves.  You have just met your part of the requirement of that covenant.

Sometimes when we sow it is a precious seed because we don’t have much to sow but a sacrifice seed empowers a thing to happen right away.  Jesus was a sacrifice seed and it only took 3 days for Jesus to come up out of the grave.  In the Bible there was a woman who had one meal left for her and her son to eat, but she sowed it and fed the prophet.  She got a same day seed and a same day harvest.  The little boy in the New Testament had two fish and five loaves of bread.  He got his harvest back the same day.  They were all sacrifice seed.

I tell you this because your flesh will fight you to give your sacrifice seed because Satan had trained us on his system, and he doesn’t want to lose us.  He wants you to stay right there and suffer in the famine of this world but you can and will get out by sowing your seed, your precious seed.

You can sow a seed for tuition, a car or whatever you need.  If you have a need just sow a seed and write it down and let the devil see it.  Whatever it is let’s use this thing with skill because that’s what Jesus did.  He used the covenant with skill.  He never had a need He didn’t meet.

I declare this is the time right now for you to have your covenant of God increase as did Isaac in his land of famine.  Be obedient to sow your seed and see this covenant with God yield the harvest you need.
