Another example of Jesus sensing things in His spirit that are going on in the natural or physical realm is found in Luke 8:46.
Luke 8:43-47 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately.KJV
Jesus was surrounded by a crowd of people that day. Jesus felt the crowd touching Him and He heard the people talking to Him and he felt the heat of the day or atmospheric conditions and at the same time He is thinking about going to Jairus’ house to heal his daughter. Yet Jesus switched back and forth between His natural senses and His spirit man. So when the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus’ garment with faith to be healed, she drew the healing power out of Jesus and He sensed that in His spirit. Jesus’ mind picked up on that.
The same kind of spiritual discernment Jesus had in these two particular incidents we can experience as well for Paul wrote about it in Hebrews 5:14.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised (trained) to discern both good and evil. KJV
Paul tells us by reason of use or exercise we must switch back and forth from our spirit man and our natural man to pick up things in both realms just as Jesus did. But we have to apply ourselves; by reason of use we can pick up on things in both realms at the same time.
