Why Has Your Faith Not Worked?

By Janie Baer

Maybe you are asking yourself why your faith has not worked in the past.  Did you know there is a whole different language you must speak if faith is going to work for you?  I think this is where a lot of people’s problem with faith has occurred.  Faith requires that you continually speak this faith language even though naturally it seems ridiculous to others and they may even think you are lying.  But that’s okay because this is the language that God speaks.  Let’s look at this faith language in Rom 4:17.

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. KJV

Notice that God who has a lifestyle of faith calls things that be not as though they were.  This is the language of God. This is how God talks all the time and how He expects you to talk as you live by faith.  Now that you are born again you have a new language, the language of faith; calling things that be not as though they were.

Faith always is “now” and so when you speak by faith you are always going to be talking in the “present tense”, speaking that it is manifested right now.

Abraham, your “Father of faith”, talked the language of faith so you need to see how he spoke in faith when he faced impossibilities in his life.

Rom 4:18-21 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. KJV

You see from this scripture Abraham believed God for his promised child and so he did not consider his body at a hundred years of age nor even Sara’s dead womb.  He staggered not at God’s promise through unbelief.  Abraham remained fully persuaded, believed with unqualified committal that God had given him this child of promise.

Abraham became fully persuaded God had given him this son of promise and so he spoke that he was already a father before the son was born.  God changed his name to Abraham, which means, “Father of nations or Father of a multitude”.  He introduced himself as “Abraham, Father of nations.”

You also must know God has made promises to you and that it is God who is going to do it.  You didn’t make the promises and you don’t have to work it out.  God is going to do it.  Become fully persuaded that you have the promise and start speaking the language of faith, “It is done.  I have it now.”  Then is when you will be speaking the same language God speaks, the language of faith.  You can’t fail to receive when you speak the language of faith for then you have given faith some words to work with.
