I want to share a Kingdom principle with you I believe will be a blessing to you and that is, God never intended for you to add to yourself. Let’s read this from the Word of God.

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

These were the words of Jesus teaching the Kingdom of God and telling us not to worry about what we were going to eat and wear and so forth and not to seek to add these things to us as the heathen do in the world system but seek the Kingdom that adds these to us.  Let’s see the Kingdom adding to, demonstrated in the Garden of Eden where the Kingdom of God was in full operation.

Genesis 2:18-19 (KJV) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: …

Notice God brought them to Adam. We see here this principle; that God never designed you or never meant for you to add to yourself.  This is what I call a basic principle of the Kingdom and what Jesus told us over in Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”

We see this same basic principle of God adding to oneself played out in the life of Ruth, and I want you to read the whole account for yourself in Ruth chapters 1-4, so you can clearly see God add to her and not her add to herself.  Basically, what happened was Ruth sowed a seed staying with her mother-in-law after both their husbands had died, and Ruth’s harvest came in a place that was never expected.  Ruth and Naomi, her mother-in-law, were out there on welfare, living in poverty and here comes the richest man around there, Boaz, and takes care of them so they never added to themselves again.

Say, I was never meant to add to myself.

We see God added to Hannah when she had no children. Hannah vowed a vow to the Lord if He gave her a man child she would give him up to the Lord’s service. Read it for yourself in 1 Samuel 1:11,17 & 19.  How did Hannah get that child?  She didn’t have anything to give except the child God would give her. So, she made a vow and a vow can be considered a seed. God added a child from the vow.  See, He just needs something that He can add to you.  You can’t get Him to add to you without the seed.

Let’s see this principle of giving God a seed and He adds to you in 2 Kings 4:8-17. There was a “great woman” in Shunem and the prophet Elisha came to town often.  She tells her husband they must build a room on their home so the prophet can come and stay when he was in town. Elisha came and stayed in the room they built and then he asked her what she wanted and was told she had no children. The prophet told her she would have a baby by that time next year and true enough God gave her a baby.  This woman sowed a prophets quarters and God added to her a baby.

I am telling you, that it was never intended for you to add to yourself.  This whole thing of working to add to ourselves came with the Fall when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden.  Before they sinned everything God had added to them but now they had to work to add to themselves and that same curse came on us but Jesus the Last Man Adam, brought us into the Kingdom of God where we don’t work to add to ourselves.  See, God never intended for you to live on the level of your paycheck.  What God has planned for you in His Kingdom, your paycheck can’t touch.

We have to remember that we are ambassadors in the earth sent from the Kingdom of God. Ambassadors of a nation go to another nation and their nation adds to them all they need.  God qualifies the church as a nation. 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; … The body of Christ is a nation.  So, you’re a nation.  God sends you, His ambassador from His nation into this world and going to this world, He never intended for you to live on the low level of the world.  He intended for you to live based on where you came from, Heaven and Heaven adds to you and not you add to yourself.

Another example of God adding to someone was Solomon.  Let’s read it right here because I want you to see God wants to richly add to us.

2 Chronicles 1:6-7 (KJV) And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it. 7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

Solomon gave the Lord a thousand burnt offerings and immediately the Lord shows up and asked him what He could give him because God loves to add to.  The Lord takes notice what we give Him whether a sacrifice seed or a large seed. The Lord gave Solomon wisdom he asked for plus the Lord gave Solomon riches and wealth and honor as no other king had before.

Luke 5 Peter fished all night and caught nothing for his fishing business for the day but then Jesus comes along and borrows Peter’s boat.

Luke 5:4-11 (KJV) Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:9  For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: 10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. 11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

These men had no fish for their fishing business that day after toiling all night to add to themselves but then they saw The Blessing of the Lord add to them after Simon loaned his fishing boat to Jesus to teach out of that day.  After see God add to them by the Blessing of the Lord, they left their business they worked to add to themselves.

But what I am saying is,

Proverbs 10:22 (KJV) The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Proverbs 10:22 (AMP) The blessing of the Lord—it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].

Proverbs 10:22 (NIV) The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.

You don’t have to toil for it to add to yourself.  The Blessing brings wealth and adds to you without painful toil trying to get increase. The Blessing brings wealth without painful toil.

God did not design you or make you to add to yourself.  That’s like God putting you in the earth and saying, I’m just going to leave you in there and you just make it the best way you can.  That’s not God nor His nature and we see that clearly in 2 Corinthians 9:8,

2 Corinthians 9:8 (AMP) And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

God never intended for you to add to yourself but by God’s grace He adds to you under all circumstances including economic downturns or whatever negative conditions happening around you. His grace makes self-sufficient. He doesn’t want you to be begging or crying to your boss for a promotion. If you need something, sow a seed that could be money or whatever the Lord directs you to sow and you have a right to expect something.

Luke 6:38 (KJV) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

God is not changing.  He doesn’t want you go out begging nor looking needy.  The church is not to be pitted but be envied because The Blessing of the Lord and His grace are adding to us.  He can make people give to you whom you don’t even know, unexpected blessings.

I’m trying to get you out of your own abilities trying to get yourself in a place of comfort financially; because the enemy doesn’t want you to get there and so His job is to keep you busy adding to yourself and not enjoying life and in the process you are never getting ahead.  That’s how his system works.

I want you to say, today I am no longer going to work to add to myself, but I am going to let the Lord add to me and His Blessing and grace are making me self-sufficient and possessing enough to require no aid or support. The job is not my source but just a way to expose my God given talents to bless a company, business, etc. and a form of giving so the Lord adds back to me. This is the answer to a single mother and meeting the needs of her children.  She will let the Lord take the load and add to her because for another thing she is an ambassador of the Kingdom of God and that means she is fully funded all of her needs and desires while on the Kingdom assignment in the earth.

Quit trying to add to yourself and allow the Lord to add to you for that’s how the Kingdom works for everyone in the Kingdom while on the earth.  You are on the earth so then you qualify for the Lord to add to you.
