You Must Have a Vision to Prosper

What does it take to increase?  Let’s read what it takes.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (KJV) And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

The Lord said to write the vision and make it plain that you may run with it and He also told us the result of having no vision.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Proverbs 29:18 (AMP) Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]—blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he.

We need to go back and refresh ourselves with the vision for our lives; because without a vision people perish and success will end up in failure.  A vision is essential to having success.

A lot of times people do not look at vision as being essential for prosperity and for increase; but it is.  Myles Munroe said, “A vision is one of the most powerful things in the Universe.”  Think about that, because if you have a vision, it will drive you, push you and even drag you.

You can have a vision for things like a house or a building.  Building that house or building, you are going to have certain things in them like toilets and you must specify where the toilets are going to be.  The architect puts in the floor plan where the pipes are going to go for the toilets.  The reason being, the clearer the vision, the faster something happens.

People in the Bible who did things had a vision.  In Genesis 15:5, Abram had no children.  So, here is what God did to give him God’s vision,

Genesis 15:5-6 (KJV) And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

God gave Abram a vision of his many children and then in Genesis 22:1 God tells Abram to do something else.

Genesis 22:1-3 (KJV) And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham (God was proving him), and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

Abram did what God told him to do because he finally got God’s vision.  A vision will make you sacrifice something to get to your goal and a vision will stop you from buying, for example, an expensive purse or shoes.  A vision will hold back random spending.  A vision will cause you to get a second job when before that vision came, you didn’t see how you could work a second job.  You can just name what a vision will do.

A person can be broke because they have no vision.

Someone says they want to be rich. That’s too general.  There are no specifics on that. For example, if you try to pour concrete without frames on it, you will have concrete all over the ground.  So, a vision needs borders.

There is nothing more powerful then a vision.  Just ask Joseph.  He had a dream and he began to detail that dream and tell it to his father and brothers. His father rebuked him, but Joseph did not let go of his vision.  His brothers put Joseph in a pit, but he didn’t let the vision go.  They sold him as a slave, but again he didn’t let the vision go.  Potiphar made him a slave and his wife falsely accused Joseph and they put him in jail but he didn’t let go of his vision.  Joseph ended up fulfilling the vision because a vision is the most powerful thing in the earth.

So, are you where you think you should be?  If not, this is your message.

How simple is it to sit down and write vision for yourself, for your ministry, for your business, for your family, for your children and so forth?  If there are problems, it is because you don’t have a vision.  Don’t make the vision small either because God doesn’t give small visions.

A vision is the most powerful thing in the earth next to the Holy Spirit.  A vision will command things to happen.

A vision will cause you to not settle for less, you can’t be talked out of it and it will come to pass.

God wants you to write a big vision and so He is going to help you.  The Bible tells us,

Proverbs 16:9 (AMP) A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.

Proverbs 16:9 (NLT2) We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

God wants you to write the plans, the vision.  What do you want?  If you don’t want much, then you are not going to get much.  Write a big vision.  A vision has power in it, so let the vision take over, let it take you over.

I want you to know God wants you to dream and to dream big with your finances.  There is nothing wrong with you dreaming big with your finances.  God makes dreams come true and so He wants you to dream big.

Give God something to work on, an impossible dream. There’s a song, “The Impossible Dream”.  Let Frank Sinatra inspire you to write your vision, your impossible dream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjI7VeIA7ZI

Don’t just say you want to be rich.  That’s too general.  Put some borders on it, like, I want this by this date and I want to be doing this or having this business and so forth.

So now write the impossible dream and God will direct your steps and make sure it happens for you.
