John 6:5-13 (KJV) When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. 7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him, 9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. 13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

Here is an account where Jesus was really teaching on the Kingdom of God and He was trying to give them a lesson on abundance thinking.  He was teaching them sowing and reaping but He was letting them know the Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of abundance.  The kingdom of darkness or Satan’s kingdom is the kingdom of scarcity.

Now when people have a scarcity mentality then it is hard to get them to realize that there is more than enough around them for everything.

The scripture tells us God has made an earth that is full of His riches.

One man said, “A million-dollar idea walks past you at least once a day.”

Most college students have the thinking that in college you barely just make it, just have enough to cover tuition and just enough to live on for that week.

People go to the store with their kids and they say to their kids, put that back.  Do you think money grows on trees?  No, you don’t have to buy into that thinking.

There are a lot of things that have input into people of a scarcity mentality to the point that this whole earth is dealing with it; whether it is building the southern border wall of the United States or wherever it is, it’s got to do with how much money do you have.

If you deal with God, He is going to take you past your money.  I guarantee you.  One of the reasons is He is going to show you there is no scarcity in the Kingdom of God.

If you are dealing with scarcity, remember it is not money, it is a mindset; because you got people who say they need a job and want prayer for a job.  You ask them when the last time was, they worked, and they reply they have been looking for a job for three years.  You say, three years.  I can take you to McDonald’s and get you a job.

My point is, it is amazing how you can build up something in the mind and the mind is so strong until it will almost confirm there are no jobs.  The mind is that strong.  What you feed it is what it is going to deliver to you.  The Bible confirms that, “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.”

Proverbs 13:23 (KJV) Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

You see, the little boy who had two fish and five loaves represented a resource.  Not a source.  Source is God.  He always sends you a resource.  So, the little boy represented a resource; but they didn’t recognize it.

How many in God’s family don’t recognize the resources that God has sent?

The woman in the Old Testament went to the prophet and told him the lenders were about to take her sons because she was not able to pay the debt.  The prophet asked her, “What do you have in your house?”

Today someone would say, “I don’t have anything.  I sold the TV, got rid of the washing machine and the lights are off.

She told the prophet she had nothing but a pot of oil.  He told her that was enough.

Let me ask you, what do you have in your house?  Because if you are thinking scarcity, you won’t recognize God’s resource.  He never leaves you without a resource.

There was a time when the disciples were out in a boat and Jesus came walking to them on the water.  The disciples cried out for fear, “It’s a spirit.”  Jesus told them it was Him and not a spirit and be not afraid.  Here came Jesus a resource coming to them and they say it is a spirit.

Now how many resources of yours have you past by on a daily basis and not caught them? God is your Source and God has given you resources and you need to get rid of the scarcity mentality, so you recognize the resources God have given you.  They become more recognizable.  You need to expand your thinking past scarcity.

You can’t sing or play a music instrument, but can you sew?  What can you do?  You got to recognize resources.  A scarcity mentality sits down and waits and complains there are no jobs and they can’t do this and can’t do that.  Don’t let that happen to you.

When people have a scarcity mentality, they can’t see when good comes.  So, what you have to do is first of all you have to say, that’s going to be over in my life.  One of the ways you can break out is like the woman in the Bible who only had two mites and she gave it, sowed it and broke the power of the spirit of poverty on her life; because it is a spirit.  If a poverty spirit messes with you, you can break the power of that spirit when you say, devil I am going to give even more.

I declare, you won’t have a scarcity mentality any longer and you will never be broke another day in your life.
