You Can Hear God’s Voice - By Mark Virkler

you-can-hear-gods-voice-june-20091

Christianity is unique among religions, for it alone offers a personal relationship with the Creator beginning here and now, and lasting throughout eternity. Jesus declared, “This is eternal life – that they may know God” (Jn. 17:2). Unfortunately, many in the Church miss the great blessing of fellowship with our Lord because we have lost the ability to recognize His voice within us. Though we have the promise that “My sheep hear My voice,” too many believers are starved for that intimate relationship that alone can satisfy the desire of their hearts.

I was one of those sheep who was deaf to his Shepherd until the Lord revealed four very simple keys (found in Habakkuk 2:1, 2) that unlocked the treasure of His voice.

Key #1 – God’s voice in your heart often sounds like a flow of spontaneous thoughts.

Habakkuk knew the sound of God speaking to him (Hab. 2:2). Elijah described it as a still, small voice (I Kings 19:12). I had always listened for an inner audible voice, and God does speak that way at times. However, I have found that usually, God’s voice comes as spontaneous thoughts, visions, feelings, or impressions.

For example, haven’t you been driving down the road and had a thought come to you to pray for a certain person? Didn’t you believe it was God telling you to pray? What did God’s voice sound like? Was it an audible voice, or was it a spontaneous thought that lit upon your mind?

Experience indicates that we perceive spirit-level communication as spontaneous thoughts, impressions and visions, and Scripture confirms this in many ways. For example, one definition of paga, a Hebrew word for intercession, is “a chance encounter or an accidental intersecting.” When God lays people on our hearts, He does it through paga, a chance-encounter thought “accidentally” intersecting our minds.

Therefore, when you want to hear from God, tune to chance-encounter or spontaneous thoughts.

Key #2 – Become still so you can sense God’s flow of thoughts and emotions within.

Habakkuk said, “I will stand on my guard post…” (Hab. 2:1). Habakkuk knew that to hear God’s quiet, inner, spontaneous thoughts, he had to first go to a quiet place and still his own thoughts and emotions. Psalm 46:10 encourages us to be still, and know that He is God. There is a deep inner knowing (spontaneous flow) in our spirits that each of us can experience when we quiet our flesh and our minds. If we are not still, we will sense only our own thoughts.

Loving God through a quiet worship song is one very effective way to become still. (Note II Kings 3:15.) After I worship and become silent within, I open myself for that spontaneous flow. If thoughts come of things I have forgotten to do, I write them down and dismiss them. If thoughts of guilt or unworthiness come, I repent thoroughly, receive the washing of the blood of the Lamb, putting on His robe of righteousness, seeing myself spotless before God (Is. 61:10; Col. 1:22).

To receive the pure word of God, it is very important that my heart be properly focused as I become still because my focus is the source of the intuitive flow. If I fix my eyes upon Jesus, the intuitive flow comes from Jesus. But if I fix my gaze upon some desire of my heart, the intuitive flow comes out of that desire. To have a pure flow I must become still and carefully fix my eyes upon Jesus. Again, quietly worshiping the King, and receiving out of the stillness that follows quite easily accomplishes this.

Fix your gaze upon Jesus (Heb. 12:2), becoming quiet in His presence and sharing with Him what is on your heart. Spontaneous thoughts will begin to flow from the throne of God to you, and you will actually be conversing with the King of Kings!

Key #3 – As you pray, fix the eyes of your heart upon Jesus, seeing in the Spirit the dreams and visions of Almighty God.

Habakkuk said, “I will keep watch to see,” and God said, “Record the vision” (Hab. 2:1,2). Habakkuk was actually looking for vision as he prayed. He opened the eyes of his heart, and looked into the spirit world to see what God wanted to show him. This is an intriguing idea.

God has always spoken through dreams and visions, and He specifically said that they would come to those upon whom the Holy Spirit is poured out (Acts 2:1-4, 17).

I had never thought of opening the eyes of my heart and looking for vision. However, I have come to believe that this is exactly what God wants me to do. He gave me eyes in my heart to see in the spirit the vision and movement of Almighty God. There is an active spirit world all around us, full of angels, demons, the Holy Spirit, the omnipresent Father, and His omnipresent Son, Jesus. The only reasons for me not to see this reality are unbelief or lack of knowledge.

In order to see, we must look. Daniel saw a vision in his mind and said, “I was looking…I kept looking…I kept looking” (Dan. 7:2,9,13). As I pray, I look for Jesus, and I watch as He speaks to me, doing and saying the things that are on His heart. Many Christians will find that if they will only look, they will see, in the same way they receive spontaneous thoughts. Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us (Matt. 1:23). It is as simple as that. You can see Christ present with you because Christ is present with you. In fact, the vision may come so easily that you will be tempted to reject it, thinking that it is just you. But if you persist in recording these visions, your doubt will soon be overcome by faith as you recognize that the content of them could only be birthed in Almighty God.

Jesus demonstrated the ability of living out of constant contact with God, declaring that He did nothing on His own initiative, but only what He saw the Father doing, and heard the Father saying (Jn. 5:19,20,30). What an incredible way to live!

Is it possible for you to live out of divine initiative as Jesus did? Yes! Fix your eyes upon Jesus. The veil has been torn, giving access into the immediate presence of God, and He calls you to draw near (Lk. 23:45; Heb. l0: 19-22). “I pray that the eyes of your heart will be enlightened….”

Key #4 – Journaling, the writing out of your prayers and God’s answers, brings great freedom in hearing God’s voice.

God told Habakkuk to record the vision (Hab. 2:2). This was not an isolated command. The Scriptures record many examples of individual’s prayers and God’s replies (e.g. the Psalms, many of the prophets, Revelation).

I call the process “two-way journaling,” and I have found it to be a fabulous catalyst for clearly discerning God’s inner, spontaneous flow, because as I journal I am able to write in faith for long periods of time, simply believing it is God. I know that what I believe I have received from God must be tested. However, testing involves doubt and doubt blocks divine communication, so I do not want to test while I am trying to receive. With journaling, I can receive in faith, knowing that when the flow has ended I can test and examine it carefully, making sure that it lines up with Scripture.

You will be amazed when you journal. Doubt may hinder you at first, but throw it off, reminding yourself that it is a biblical concept, and that God is present, speaking to His children. Relax. When we cease our labors and enter His rest, God is free to flow (Heb. 4:10). Sit back comfortably, take out your pen and paper, smile, and turn your attention toward the Lord in praise and worship, seeking His face. After you write your question to Him, become still, fixing your gaze on Jesus. You will suddenly have a very good thought. Don’t doubt it; simply write it down. Later, as you read your journaling, you, too, will be blessed to discover that you are indeed dialoguing with God.

Some final notes: Knowing God through the Bible is a vital foundation to hearing His voice in your heart, so you must have a solid commitment to knowing and obeying the Scriptures. It is also very important for your growth and safety that you be related to solid, spiritual counselors. All major directional moves that come through journaling should be confirmed by your counselors before you act upon them.

God’s Laughter For Every Day Life

gods-laughter-june-20-20091

Have you ever been in a church service and for no reason at all you start laughing uncontrollably? I have and it is fun, refreshing and makes you feel really light and the heaviness of life’s situations escapes you.

I have even experienced praying for someone and all of a sudden I start laughing although nothing that person shared with me was funny. In fact with what they were facing it sure didn’t seem like the proper time to be laughing. There was nothing to laugh about. What was happening? I may not with my mind understood it but my spirit was picking up on the victory that was happening for them in the spirit realm.

Sometimes this laughter looks utterly ridiculous so we have to make the decision which do we want, to look spiritual and real religious or do we want to experience the serenity of the spirit and the victories being worked out in the spirit realm?

Some of you maybe experiencing some really tough times right now so I recommend to you some good Holy Ghost laughter.

Have you ever thought of laughing at the enemy or laughing at difficulties? God does.

Ps 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. KJV

God laughs at His enemies because He knows that He has the victory over them. God was probably laughing when Jesus said, “It is finished,” and when Jesus died and was buried. Remember what the bible says,

1 Cor 2:6-8 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. KJV

God’s enemies crucified Jesus thinking they got Him out of the way. But God got the last laugh on his enemies, for in crucifying Christ they were unknowingly making God’s redemptive plan for mankind a reality.

God laughed when you got born again because He knows your outcome also:

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,

which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. KJV

Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. KJV

Experiencing the laughter of God you are picking up in the spirit the victory that you need and that is now happening in the spirit realm. You must realize that God’s laughter is actually bringing down the victory into your experience. In the natural things may look the same, but you can be sure when you experience this uncontrollable laughter that you are tapping into the realm of the spirit and you can be sure you will get the results that you prayed and desired. So you need to get in the spirit and start laughing at your enemies and get one victory after another victory.

God’s laughter really scares your enemies. They will run for fear as you laugh with God in your most difficult times. When you experience God’s laughter, fear is eliminated as God is taking control of your situation. Fear has to get out of the way.

Here’s a scripture to remember and let the laughter of God take you over. God told Job:

Job 5:22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh:…KJV

If God told Job to laugh at destruction and famine then you must do the same so God can handle it.

God also told Job,

Job 8:21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing. KJV

God wants to fill your mouth with laughter because His laughter is a spiritual weapon. God doesn’t want you to handle things naturally but supernaturally with His laughter. So allow Him to fill your mouth with laughter.

Ps 37:12-13 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. 13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. KJV

God laughs at the wicked because God already knows that He has the final word. So start laughing with God for He has the final word in your situation now.

The bible tells us there is a time for you to laugh in the victories God gives to you.

Eccl 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; KJV

Did you know that when you experience God’s laughter you are experiencing the anointing of laughter and that’s when the oil flows and your enemy has to run? The devil knows that when you start laughing, that’s when he knows he is defeated and he had better get out of the way. He knows he can’t mess with you any more.

The enemy hates it when you get into the anointing for that is when the Holy Spirit makes you God conscious and not self-conscious or sin conscious or defeated conscious.

When you are operating out of the spirit realm you will see every time what God sees. You will see the victories for sure because God sees the end of this thing from the beginning.

When the enemy of fear comes against you like a big giant monster ready to take you over and destroy you, God sees him already knocked out. That’s why you can begin to laugh and you don’t even know why you are doing it but keep it up.

Are you facing mountains of health problems, no job or no income, or relationship problems today? Start laughing at them, allowing the anointing of laughter to flow and allowing God to make those mountains your past history.

You can laugh in the most difficult situations because Jesus, your Captain of the Hosts, is holding the keys to death, hell and the grave. You can laugh with God because the sound of your laughter is the sound of that first Resurrection morning that will forever echo throughout eternity.

God’s laughter is good medicine:

Prov 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine:… KJV

God’s laughter is the body expressing to you a picture of its redemption.

God’s laughter is uncontrollable joy. And this joy is your strength to face every day challenges.

God’s laughter is the outward manifestation of the reality of you being more than a conqueror like the bible tells you, you are.

God’s laughter is when you are experiencing the breadth, length, height and depth of the love of God for you.

So get into the Lord’s presence and experience His laughter right now.

God’s Love is Genuine Love

4-dr-chris-blog-may-20093

Here are some wonderful truths my pastor, Dr. Christopher Longgrear, shared with me and I know will really bless you and strengthen your faith in Daddy’s love.

Blog: Dr. Christopher Longgrear

Website: www.freshfireministriesintl.org/ Blog: www.freshfire.talkspotblogs.com

1Jn 4:15  Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him and he in God.

All we did to receive eternal life was to believe in Jesus as the Lamb of God that carried away our sin, & we declared that trust in Him by calling upon Him for salvation! To confess Him is a combination of declaring out of your mouth what you believe about Him in your mind! When you combined the belief in Him in your mind with your calling upon Him with your mouth, you received the force of divine life in your spirit!

A double birthing took place at your New-birth: God’s life came into your spirit, & you were placed into Him by the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit of life placed God into you & you into God! So, literally & vitally, God is in you, & you are in Him! He can never be removed from you & you can never be removed from Him! God is sealed into you & you are absorbed & sealed into Him!

The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of your salvation, through & through, for all of eternity, once you’ve been Born-again!

16  And we have known and believed the love that God has in us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

We have God’s love for us abiding within us, & we need to experience that love, by soaking in it, resting in it, believing in it, & meditating upon it. As you soak in the presence of the Holy Spirit, He manifests Father’s love for you in a tangible manner, & you experience Daddy’s love in a genuine way!

To believe in God’s love for you is to release you into the joy of it! When you know that you are loved by God the Father, God the Son, & God the Spirit, unconditionally, you are motivated by their love to receive it into your belief system, & to flow in it, go in it, & grow in it!

Let us remember that everything we have, do, or will receive from God is a gift: it’s undeserved, unmerited, & unearned. Because everything from God to us is a gift, we are free to receive it, believe, & retrieve it, from the Holy Spirit, who places them into us & us into them!

You may believe in theory that God loves you without experiencing the reality & vitality of His love. Until you experience His love for you, you’re missing the touch of the heart of God, for He is love!

God the Father doesn’t merely have love for you, (which would still be a very powerful reality in itself), but HE IS LOVE! Love is who He is, what He is, & how He is, for you, to you, with you, in you, & through you!

It’s impossible for The Lord to not love you, for love is His nature: love is what motivated each member of the Holy Trinity to create man, mingle with man,
redeem man after his fall, & restore man back into the life, kingdom, & family of God!

Once you’ve been Born-again, you are sealed into God’s love, & it, like His life, is sealed into you! Literally, you are a love-child of God! His love has made you His child, & His love flowing through you along with the truth of the Gospel of Jesus, will draw other people to Him through the love you pour on them!

Because God is love, you are Born-again in Him, you have become a manifestation of His love! Even if & when it doesn’t seem to flow through your moods & attitudes, it doesn’t change the reality of you being filled with the Love of God, & Romans 5:5 confirms this as truth! Your emotional & mental condition can’t alter the reality of God’s love that fills your spirit, but your moods & attitudes can hinder His love from flowing through you freely, & revealing Him fully to others you interact with!

So when you are experiencing difficulties from life-in-general, that’s a great opportunity for you to withdraw into the presence of God for a session of soaking in His love for you! It’s good for what ails you!

17  In this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that as He is, so also we are in this world.

Our love, when filled with His love, is transformed! In fact, do we have real, full, complete love without Him? I don’t think so, & I can confirm this opinion in asking you to think about your earthly relationships: nearly every person-to-person relationship you’ve had has been affected by your performance in that relationship, right? Marriages, jobs, friendships, church membership, & family relationships have all been affected by what we did or didn’t do in them. Because of that pattern, we’ve come to believe that Daddy’s love for us is just as conditional as people’s have been! NOT TRUE! He cannot fail in loving you, because GOD IS LOVE!  (That’s God the Father, Son, & Spirit): they each love you unconditionally & unfailingly!

A revelation of God’s love for you will bring transformation to your life! You are gradually & consistently delivered from fear of God that causes you to expect Him to turn off His love to you when you don’t perform up to His standards: you are also conformed into the image & likeness of Jesus, & you become strong in Him & bold in the strength & passion of His love for people because of realizing His unlimited love for you!

As you soak in the love of God for you, you are encouraged & emboldened in the flow of His love for people, & you cast off the restraints of fearfulness, because you come to realize that since God is for you, who or what can stand against you! Remember, according to 1 Cor. 13.8, God’s love (for You) never fails!

18  There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love.

Experiencing God’s love for you, & expressing it through you, crushes fear (of rejection) out of your life! As you experience His love, you realize the truth of being accepted in the Beloved! You realize you are the beloved of the Lord! You experience His passion for you & for everyone else! You are transformed, conformed, & confirmed intosonship in the Father, through the Son, by the Spirit!
Fear of rejection by God carries over in our union with people: if we believe God can reject us by our performance (or lack of performance to His standards), we expect that same tendency from people. Fear of rejection has a degree of condemnation & torment build into it!

As we experience Daddy’s great love for us, our emotional & mental makeup is transformed by the Spirit of Grace & Truth! We are changed from glory to glory, faith to faith, image to image, by the Spirit of Love! The wounds of bad experiences in life are washed away, & the healing balm of divine love brings healing, deliverance, restoration & transformation to us & then through us!
When you’ve been delivered from fear of losing God’s love, then you have nothing nor anyone else to fear, whether man or devil!

As you come to know in truth Daddy’s perfect love for you, fear is crushed, your life is healed, your hope is renewed, your vision is restored, your zeal is invigorated, & you become a bold & joyful bearer & sharer of that love that goes beyond description!

Unconditional love is a magnetic force that draws people to God, & to His people that flow in it! And because not everyone has yet experienced the fullness &freeness of His love, we that have are valuable to both the Father & to people in the world! For as we flow from His presence filled with an overflowing anointing of His love, we spill it into the midst of people we interact with on a daily basis!
So, friends & brethren, keep going to the well of divine love, that is, the presence of the Lord, & draw deep & long from that well, & come forth & pour it joyfully & endlessly upon dry & thirsty people! The love of God is a well-spring of life, & His rivers of living water flow endlessly in us, & can do so through us!

You are filled to be spilled in behalf of the Lord into people’s lives!

Using Our Imagination When We See By Faith

final-picture-for-imagination-may-20093

I am really beginning to see the connection between our imagination and living by faith. Without the imagination we will not walk by faith but by sight or by our five physical senses. I want you to know that God gave us our imagination and in Christ it is a holy thing.

I found this article online and it blessed me so much I thought I would share it with you. I hope from studying this article you will see the importance of your imagination when it comes to believing for something that you cannot see with your physical eyes, hear with your physical ears or feel with your physical touch. All we need to be able to do is see it in the spirit realm, hear it in the spirit realm and feel it in the spirit realm. For we look not at the things that are seen, by the five senses, but at the things that are not seen and our imagination in line with the Word of God and the Spirit is how we do it.

Here is where I found this article:  http://www.believers.org/finalist.htm and use it with their permission.

Imagination

There are only two ways for a human to “see” something:

· physical vision through their eyes, or

· imagination.

Without imagination: man would be completely limited — virtually robots. All human progress has been born out of imagination — the ability to “see” things differently than they were.

The only way a human can see the past or the future unaided, is through their imagination. Memory uses the imagination. Much of our thinking, whether planning or “jumping to conclusions,” involves our imagination. Fear and faith operate in the realm of imagination.

Many top athletes successfully use their imagination in training. Vividly imagining a successful action seems to be more effective in training than doing it physically. When we experience an event vividly in our imagination it is imprinted as an experience, even though we did not physically do it.

Children seem to naturally have active imaginations. As we grow older and become more “educated” we tend to use our imaginations less and less.

Everyone has used their imagination negatively by worrying. We should use the same process in a positive way, based on God’s Word.

Faith

Seeing something by the “eye of faith” has to be the same as imagining it.

The following three common statements express the same meaning.

· “I can’t see that happening.”

· “I can’t imagine that happening.”

· “I can’t understand how that could ever happen.”

2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 NKJ
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

How can you look at things which are not seen? Only by imagination.

Inward Eyes

EPHESIANS 1:18 NKJ
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

The NIV translates the above phrase as, “eyes of your heart.” The NEB says, “inward eyes.” Jerusalem Bible says, “eyes of your mind.”

Understanding uses imagination but is separate from it. Your understanding is not your imagination, but imagination can help you to understand something.

PROVERBS 28:11 NKJ
11 The rich man is wise in his own eyes, but the poor who has understanding searches him out.

ACTS 26:18 NKJ
18 to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

JOHN 12:40 NKJ
40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and understand with their heart, lest they should turn, so that I should heal them.”

Certainly, we must interpret this in a figurative sense. God had not physically blinded their eyes. This must speak of not being able to understand through their imagination.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:4 NKJ
4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Right And Wrong Thoughts

ROMANS 1:21 NKJ
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

2 CORINTHIANS 10:5 NKJ

5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

We must control our thoughts. Although bad thoughts will come, we must not accept them or embrace them as our own.

EPHESIANS 4:23 NKJ
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

1 TIMOTHY 4:15 NKJ
15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.

Imagination is part of meditation. We should meditate on God’s Word. Imagination affects your future actions. For a person to change, their thinking has to change.

What Is Reality?

Reality is more than what you can perceive through your physical senses. Every scientist believes that. They acknowledge radio waves exist which you are not physically aware of. Yet, anyone with an inexpensive receiver can pick up those signals which are all around you. Everyone in the civilized world today believes this. But 300 years ago almost no one believed it.

The question is: Are we sure we know everything now? Or, is it possible there may be things, which are in fact real, of which we are presently ignorant?

Those who believe the Bible, know there is a reality which surrounds us which unbelieving people are largely unaware of. It is the spirit realm where God, angels, the devil, and demons are now active.

How can anyone know about the spiritual realm — since we cannot perceive it with any of our physical senses? Through the Bible — which is God’s message to mankind.

Whatever the Bible says or promises is not fantasy. It is reality, even though we cannot perceive it with our physical senses.

Imagine It The Way God’s Word Says It

Using your imagination has received a bad press lately among Christian circles. Because some cults and new age groups have embraced the idea of using our imaginations, some Christians think it must therefore be bad. This is no way to determine truth. The devil has tried to appropriate many things from God.

Recently, the question came to me, “Why did God create man with an imagination?” I do believe He is the Creator, don’t you? He did make man with an imagination, didn’t He. He surely had a reason other than so man could use it for evil.

When I asked God if there was any scriptural support for using our imagination, it occurred to me to look in Hebrews 11. As I began reading the chapter I was shocked at what I found, even though I had read it many times before!

Right in verse 1, faith is defined as “. . . evidence of things not seen.” I thought, “If it is something you can’t see, then it has to deal with the realm of the imagination.” People would say we were believing something that is just imaginary if it couldn’t be seen. In fact the dictionary says imagine means: to form a mental image of something not present. What could more closely describe the Bible definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1!

By this time I was excited, but the chapter was just beginning. Time and again, I saw that people in this chapter had used their imagination; they had “seen” what was not visible to others. I began to realize faith is linked with imagination like wet is linked with water. The two are inseparable.

Then I began to understand why the devil had stirred up such a fuss over this subject. Why he had inspired eastern religions to utilize the imagination: to muddy the waters and get Christians afraid it might be wrong.

As I read of Abraham I thought of Genesis 15:5 where God told him to “count the stars . . . So shall your descendants be.” If God wasn’t telling Abraham to use his imagination, I don’t know what He was telling Him to do!

So be Biblical; be spiritual. Take what God has said in His Word, and imagine it that way in your life!

One New Man

one-new-man-picture-april-20094

All of us have read the creation story in Genesis and know it very well. God created the first man, Adam. Adam sinned and took on himself a whole new nature of sin, a carnal nature. You could say that his spirit was born again from God’s nature to a sin nature, the nature of his father the devil. As a result of Adam’s sin, every person born into this earth became a sinner by the nature Adam passed on to him or her. We see this truth in Romans 5.

Romans 5:12,19 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, KJV

We are familiar with this creation and the fall of man but we need to become more familiar with another creation story that took place at another time, I call it the creation story of the New Testament that is recorded in Ephesians. Jesus, the last Adam, came and gave us by His finished work an entirely new nature and that’s the new creation story, full of glory.

We must read it over and over again and meditated on it so that we see the new man that was created in Christ Jesus by the finished work of Jesus Christ? I don’t think many Christians read this creation story or it certainly doesn’t seem that way by their conversations and the way they live.

Before we go to Ephesians, here is what 2 Corinthians 5:17 says about this new creation:

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! AMP

Isn’t that exciting! We are a whole new creation that never existed before!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!

If you believed in the creation story in Genesis, then you have to believe in the creation of this entirely new man by the finished work of Christ Jesus.

Look closely at the creation story of Ephesians, I like to call it, and see the new creation you are in Christ Jesus:

Ephesians 2:1-17AND YOU [He made alive] (That’s the new creation.) when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins 2 In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. 3 Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God's] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God — so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, 5 Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation). 6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 7 He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; 9 Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.] 10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. 11 Therefore, remember that at one time you were Gentiles (heathens) in the flesh, called Uncircumcision by those who called themselves Circumcision, [itself a mere mark] in the flesh made by human hands. 12[Remember] that you were at that time separated (living apart) from Christ [excluded from all part in Him], utterly estranged and outlawed from the rights of Israel as a nation, and strangers with no share in the sacred compacts of the [Messianic] promise [with no knowledge of or right in God's agreements, His covenants]. And you had no hope (no promise); you were in the world without God. 13 But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near. 14 For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us, 15 By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace.16 And [He designed] to reconcile to God both [Jew and Gentile, united] in a single body by means of His cross, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end. 17 And He came and preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off and [peace] to those who were near. 18 For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. 19 Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God’s own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God’s [own] household. 20 You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone. 21 In Him the whole structure is joined (bound, welded) together harmoniously, and it continues to rise (grow, increase) into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the Lord]. 22 In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit. AMP

This is the creation we need to become aware of and talk about daily instead of the carnal creature we became with the first Adam. And Christians need to keep associating themselves with the last Adam instead of the first Adam.

Do you know what I mean? These Christian are always talking like they are still this old man of sin and are still trying to crucify him, when the bible says the old man of sin was crucified and buried with Christ. They talk like they have to sin each day. And I wonder, don’t they know the bible says that sin has no more power over them because of the blood of Jesus? They talk like they are still subject to the curse and talk and talk about how badly they feel and, “Oh, my arthritis is killing me,” taking ownership of it, which empowers it to remain in their bodies. They talk like their have no hope. They speak like they have to depend on natural people, natural means. They speak like they are victims and not victors. They hardly ever, mention the Word of God, the finished work of Christ, the promises of God.

I know we all go through some tough times but our conversations should never be filtered through and through with just what is going on in the natural. This really saddens me and I know it grieves the Holy Spirit.

What I am getting at is, we need to meditate this scripture in Ephesians and realize we are a new creation in Christ Jesus possessing a whole new God nature since we are born of Him. That makes us the righteousness of God in Christ instead of a sinner. We need to speak from the perspective of Christ in us rather than, “I am a sinner saved by grace.” No, we were a sinner saved by grace.

We need to reprogram our thinking for the old man is gone. The only thing that remains of him are the memories. The rest is an illusion, a false impression or belief, a false perception or conception that he is still alive. That’s why Paul kept talking about renewing of the mind to the new creation. Paul wrote so we would recognize who we are in Christ. (I have listed on my website, www.godswordalive.com a list of “In Him”, “In Whom”, “In Christ”, etc. scriptures to get better acquainted with this new man and have published a book, “In Him We Live, Move & Have Our Being”. It contains “Heaven’s Death Certificate for the Old Man” to help keep that old stinking, carnal man buried.)

Do you know the more talk about being a sinner and about sin the more a person will act out of character to their new God nature? Preaching and teaching sin only empowers sin in a person’s life. The Law of Moses was not given to keep Israel from sinning. The Law was to show them their sin but never lifted a finger to help them out. The Law actually gave power to sin. The Law showed them they needed a Savior and His name is Jesus. Hallelujah!!!!

A Christian’s life and conversation should be expressing only what the finished work of Christ has done in their life. With more and more Christians talking about the new creation in Christ Jesus and the finished work of Christ, they will begin to see themselves for what we are, the glorious Church without spot or wrinkle, washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Here are a few things a Christian should talk about from day to day and glorify their Lord and not the devil:

New creation in Christ Jesus

New God nature

Righteousness of God in Christ

Power of the blood of Jesus

Authority of the believer

Sin has no more dominion

Power of the name of Jesus (Even over cancer, hallelujah!!!!!)

Healed & made whole by the stripes of Jesus

Redeemed from every curse

Faith filled words

Word of God alive and full of power

Ministering angels

Citizenship of heaven NOW!!!!

Being seated with Christ in heavenly places as a part of the royal family

Unconditional love of God

Favor of God and man

Kingdom of God living NOW!!!: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost

World overcomer

Mind of Christ

Every need met by His riches in glory by Christ Jesus

Jehovah Jireh, my Provider

Jehovah Rapha, my Physician, Healer

These are just a few suggestions. I hope you make your own new list of things to talk about and glorify Christ and magnify His finished work in your mind and life and render doubt and unbelief powerless. That’s when you will open yourself up to live in the realm of the spirit; seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching in your spirit to get the right perspective of things while on this earth. That’s what Jesus was doing when He said He only said what He heard the Father say and He only did what He saw the Father do. He saw and heard things out of His spirit.

Now that is available to you by the reality of the new creation you are in Christ Jesus. Get excited!!!!
